Deadline for school-age entrepreneur competition Pitch NJ extended through Jan. 31

Florham Park N.J. – Jan. 10, 2022 – The deadline for applications for the school-age entrepreneur competition, Pitch NJ, has been extended through Jan. 31. High school and middle school entrepreneurs with an idea for a business in Morris County and beyond are eligible for a seed grant of up to $1,500. The contest is open to grades eight through 12.

PitchNJ each year offers young entrepreneurs from New Jersey high schools and middle schools the opportunity to showcase their business ideas in competition for seed grants provided by local businesses. Contestants must be students and entries are evaluated by a panel of local business professionals based on such criteria as problem and solution statements, competitive analysis, marketing and financial plans, feasibility and verbal presentation.

Contestants must complete an application available at Click Here To Apply and submit a lean canvass business plan. The application includes a link to a video explaining what a lean canvass business plan is and how to create one.

Ten or more finalists will then be selected to pitch their product live in front of the panel of judges at Fairleigh Dickenson University, including a product demonstration.

PitchNJ is an annual collaborative effort of Business Bootcamp, a nonprofit dedicated to educating middle school students about business; Morris Tech MeetUp, a group of entrepreneurs and technology professionals; and the Morris County Economic Development Corporation (MCEDC), a division of the Morris County Chamber of Commerce; with Fairleigh Dickinson serving as host.
