The Data and Statistics page of the Morris County Planning and Preservation website has been updated with the following tables based on the Census Bureau’s new 2017-2021 American Community Survey Five-Year Estimates:
Population
- Item 24: Population by Ancestry, 2017 – 2021 (Five-Year Estimates)
- Highlights:
- Parsippany having the largest TOTAL population (55,848)
- Parsippany’s population’s largest ancestral roots are Italian and German (9, 796 and 6,742 respectively)
Housing
- Item 8: Units in Residential Structures, 2017 – 2021 (Five-Year Estimates)
- Item 10: Median Value for Owner Occupied Housing Units – Municipalities, 2012 – 2016 and 2017 – 2021 (Five-Year Estimates)
- Highlights:
- 2017-2021 Median Value of Owner Occupied Housing Units in HARDING NJ ($ 1,181,000)
- Item 13: Median Contract Rent – Municipalities, 2012 – 2016 and 2017 – 2021 (Five-Year Estimates)
- Highlights:
- Overall Change % for Chester Township is NEGATIVE 25.9% (went down)

- Item 2: Per Capita Income, 2012 – 2016 and 2017 – 2021 (Five-Year Estimates)

- Highlights:
- Throughout all municipalities notice the large amount of people (25 and over) who are receiving higher education and professional degrees (62% of Morris County Population in this age range).
