May 2023 Unemployment

Morris County’s unemployment rate for May 2023 was 3.2%, up from 2.5% in April 2023 and 3.0% in May 2022.

· In May 2023, Morris County had the second lowest unemployment rate in New Jersey at 3.2%, behind only Hunterdon County at 3.0%. Cape May County had the highest unemployment rate at 6.2%.

· New Jersey’s unemployment rate for May 2023 was 3.9%, up from 3.1% in April 2023 and 3.5% in May 2022.

· Morris County’s total labor force was 274,500 in May 2023, down from 274,600 in April 2023 and up from 268,000 in May 2022.

· Data is not seasonally adjusted.
