KPMG Expands Lease at Morristown’s HQ Plaza Leads to Fall 2026 Move
KPMG has taken additional space at HQ Plaza in Morristown, bringing its expected footprint to some 76,000 square feet when it moves to the complex next year.
The Big Four accounting and consulting firm said Thursday that it would lease another 10,000 square feet on the ground floor of the sprawling office complex on Speedwell Avenue, where it plans to build enhanced conference room facilities to provide more space for collaboration. That follows its plan to lease 66,000 square feet on the top four floors of HQ Plaza’s west tower, which it announced early this year, under a deal with The Olnick Organization and Fisher Development.
“KPMG will be relocating its Short Hills office to Morristown’s HQ Plaza in Fall 2026 to better accommodate its employees in the area,” a company representative wrote in an email. “With the addition of another 10,000 square feet in space, this move will now represent a 40 percent expansion in space from our current location. We look forward to continuing to serve our clients with excellence in this vibrant market.”
The initial deal with KPMG also came just over a year after Olnick and Fisher unveiled plans to refresh HQ Plaza, with a focus on the cavernous interior concourse that connects its three office towers, the Hyatt Regency Morristown and a host of retailers and restaurants. The reported $32 million project includes bringing new lounge areas, restaurants and workspaces to the main east-west corridor, in a time in which tenants have clamored for high-end workspaces in the downtown.
KPMG will occupy a space that’s adjacent to the revitalized plaza, Olnick said.
“We are excited that KPMG is expanding even before they have moved into their original space that they signed a lease for,” Seth Schochet, CEO of The Olnick Organization, wrote in an email. “I think it’s a testament to the upgrades to HQ Plaza and building location in Morristown as a whole.”
Cushman & Wakefield’s Robert Donnelly and Robert Donnelly Jr. represent ownership at HQ Plaza, with CBRE’s Jeff Babikian and Conor Dolan representing KPMG. The accounting firm will occupy space that famously housed Riker Danzig LLP, which recently moved to Madison, joining the likes of Deloitte LLP, Sanofi and Valley Bank as blue-chip tenants that have relocated to Morristown in recent years.
