County Level Unemployment Data Released for November 2023

 

ATTENTION: County-level unemployment data for November 2023 has been posted to the NJLWD website: https://www.nj.gov/labor/labormarketinformation/assets/PDFs/employ/uirate/lfmth.xlsx

The following is a summary of this information:

·         Morris County’s unemployment rate for November 2023 was 3.6%, down from 3.7% in October 2023 and up from 2.5% in November 2022.

·         In November 2023, Morris County had the second lowest unemployment rate in New Jersey at 3.6%, behind only Hunterdon County at 3.4%.  Cape May County had the highest unemployment rate at 8.2%.

·         New Jersey’s unemployment rate for November 2023 was 4.3%, down from 4.4% in October 2023 and up from 3.1% in November 2022.

·         Morris County’s total labor force was 272,400 in November 2023, up from 272,300 in October 2023 and 269,800 in November 2022.

·         Data is not seasonally adjusted.
