January 2023 Unemployment
The following takeaways and statistics provide a summary of January’s County-Level 2023 Unemployment Rates:
· Morris County’s unemployment rate for January 2023 was 3.2%, up from 2.3% in December 2022 and down from 3.7% in January 2022.
· In January 2023, Morris County was tied with Hunterdon County as having the lowest unemployment rate in New Jersey at 3.2%. Cape May County had the highest unemployment rate at 11.7%.
· New Jersey’s unemployment rate for January 2023 was 4.0%, up from 3.1% in December 2022 and down from 4.9% in January 2022.
· Morris County’s total labor force was 272,700 in January 2023, up from 267,000 in December 2022 and 260,200 in January 2022.
