County-Level Unemployment Data Updates for July 2023

The following is a summary of the information provided by the Morris County Office of Planning and Preservation and the NJLWD:
· Morris County’s unemployment rate for July 2023 was 4.0%, up from 3.9% in June 2023 and 3.0% in July 2022.
· In July 2023, Morris County had the second lowest unemployment rate in New Jersey at 4.0%, behind only Hunterdon County at 3.7%. Cumberland County had the highest unemployment rate at 6.9%.
· New Jersey’s unemployment rate for July 2023 was 4.7%, up from 4.5% in June 2023 and 3.6% in July 2022.
· Morris County’s total labor force was 278,300 in July 2023, up from 278,200 in June 2023 and 270,500 in July 2022.
· Data is not seasonally adjusted.
